Essay Writing: An Example of how you could answer the question of how the ancient world influenced the modern world.
The ancient World teaches us what we need to know.
Argue for or against this statement.
For this example, I would develop the idea of education and use it as an example of something that has changed between the ancient and modern world.
NOTE: You may talk about ANY TOPIC for example, food, clothing, technology, transportation, family life....or whatever else you like to show the differences between the ancient world and modern world, just remember to show the connection between the ancient and modern.
Introduction:
The Ancient world has provided the basis for all of the innovations and conveniences we currently enjoy in our modern world. Without the knowledge our ancient ancestors created and passed down to us, we would not be where we are today. In our modern world, sometimes we take this for granted and forget that all of our new technologies originated in a simpler form in ancient societies. For example, education today may look quite different from school in the ancient world, however, education today has its foundations in the ancient world.
Paragraph 1: Describe your topic in the ancient world
Paragraph 2: Describe your topic in the modern world
Conclusion: Show how your topic originated in the ancient world but has changed in the modern world. State your opinions about this change and re-state that all parts of our modern world are in fact from the ancient world and that we must remember our past and honor the contributions of ancient societies in our modern world.
