It was a lovely Friday morning. All the family decided to go out. We agreed to spend a traditional Emirati’s holiday. We backed our things and put them over the car. We started our way happily.
In our way suddenly, we saw a camel was laying in the middle f the road. My father tried to stop the car. He pushed the break very hard. We were about to hit the laying camel, but we succeeded to stop in time.
We got out of the car. Me and my father went towards the laying camel. The camel was alive , but seemed to be hurt by something. At that time, another car arrived. In the car there were two men in formal uniform.
“we didn’t hit the camel”, I said to them. They answered, “we know that.” They told us that the camel was a racing camel which won many races. And it was very expensive. I asked them what happened to the camel. They told me that it ate something which hurt its stomach. They thought that people who camp in the desert through dangerous things that may be very harmful for wild life in the desert.
We helped the two young men to put the camel in their car. We returned to our car and continued our way to spend our holiday. I learnt two important lessons. The first is culture is a part of our life. The second is we must protect our own heritage.
