1- Read the following passage then answer the questions below:
Any location on Earth is described by two numbers--its latitude and its longitude. If a pilot or a ship's captain wants to specify position on a map, these are the "lines" they would use.
On the Earth, lines of latitude are circles of different size. The longest is the equator, whose latitude is zero, while at the poles--at latitudes 90° north and 90° south (or -90°) the circles shrink to a point.
Lines of longitude ("meridians") extend from pole to pole. Every meridian must cross the equator. The Greenwich meridian is the zero longitude. It is located at the eastern edge of London, the British capital. It divides the world into east and west. Lines of longitude are 1800 east and 1800 west.

Read the following passage , then answer the questions below :

A scientist made a hypothesis that water and air damage XXXXls fast. To prove her hypothesis she did an experiment. In her laboratory, she brought three glasses. She put a nail in each glass. She put water in two glasses and covered one of them. She left the three glasses for about a month. Then she compared the three nails. The nail, which was in the water and which was not covered, was damaged faster than the other two nails because it had XXXX water and air. So she proved her hypothesis.

In this way, we can see that scientists are different from other people. We think that something is true without proving it. But this is not enough for a scientist. He or she tries to prove it.
