Input device
Before a computer can process your data,
you need some method to enter the data into the computer.
This method is called input device it use to enable the user to enter raw data into a computer.
The computer accepts data then process the data after that it needs to produce output of the result.
Manual input devices
The most common manual input devices are the keyboard and mouse
Keyboard
One of the main input devices used on a computer
The computer keyboard is used to enter text information into the computer, also it can be used to type commands directing the computer to perform certain actions.
Mouse
It is also the most important input devices
The mouse pointing device sits on your work surface and is moved with your hand.
it able to perform various functions such as opening a program or file .play games
Selecting the data when you need it
In older mice, a ball in the bottom of the mouse rolls on the surface as you move the mouse, and internal rollers sense the ball movement and transmit the information to the computer via the cord of the mouse.
The newer optical mouse does not use a rolling ball, but instead uses a light and a small optical sensor to detect the motion of the mouse by tracking a tiny image of the desk surface. Optical mice avoid the problem of a dirty mouse ball, which causes regular mice to roll unsmoothly if the mouse ball and internal rollers are not cleaned frequently
Also there are many input devices like scanner, Microphone, Webcam, Joystick
Scanner
It can be used to allows a user to take an image and text and convert it into a digital file, allowing the computer to read and or display the scanned object. A scanner is commonly connected to a computer .USB, Fire wire, Parallel or SCSI port.
Microphone
Enable the user to record sound into their computers.
Helps talks to do voice with your friends and family
Webcam
A camera connected to a computer or server that allows anyone connected to the Internet to view still pictures or motion video of a user.
Joystick
A computer joystick allows an individual to easily navigate an object in a game such as navigating a plane in a flight simulator.
Conclusion
The communication and input problems inherent in a large-scale multiplex computer system have been discussed. Hardware and software philosophies and a description of a general input controller intended to cope with these problems have been presented.
It is felt that the modular and dynamic structure of the input software and its flexible stream switching ability are essential to the success of a multiplex computer system. Similarly, the hardware flexibility and the uniform software approach permitted by the new controller greatly simplify the design of such computer systems
